Introduction
The United Kingdom has for centuries
been dictated by a flurry of legislative bodies, fluctuating in tune
and structure; since as early as the tenth and eleventh centuries,
Britain has undergone a significant number of changes both in its
handling of internal affairs as well as its notable foreign policies.
The Changing Faces of British Law
Having been ruled by a staggering list
of over 60 English monarchs it has been difficult to isolate what
exactly British Law is, particularly so due to its partiality to
erratic legislature.
Furthermore, as a result of the general
corruption that has characterised the church and monarch, politics has
become something of a ‘dirty word' in Britain, more synonymous with
lying and exploitation, and consequently, a marked discord has
consistently echoed between the ruling elite and general masses, for
centuries.
Shari'ah Law Vs British Law
In the Arabic language Shari'ah
literally means ‘oasis', juristically however it is taken to mean the
divine way of life that Almighty God has ordered all mankind to live by.
Between 622CE - 1924CE this Shari'ah
was established on state level encompassing countries and continents,
implementing its justice to all those fortunate enough to live under
its dominion; crucially however, due to the divine nature of its
foundations, those rules which are known in Islam by necessity have
continued to manifest themselves without alteration, and thus the
Shari'ah has never been subject to the manipulation of man that has
characterised the British Law & Order.
In summary, the United Kingdom has
never genuinely experienced the exquisite beauty of divine law, its
rulers have been dictatorial and its legislation corrupt, hence it is
with this in mind that sincere followers of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama'ah
have come together to tackle this dilemma head on.

Who will be debating for British Law?
Born Douglas Kear Murray, he is
currently the director of think-tank, Centre for Social Cohesion;
described by some as a prominent neo-conservative he is also a
political writer and has contributed significantly to the magazine,
Standpoint as well as newspapers the Guardian and Sunday Times. His
media appearances have been regular and include: BBC's Question Time,
Newsnight, HardTalk, Today Programme, BBC Question and BBC
Arabic.
His focus is largely centred on Islamic affairs as his website www.socialcohesion.co.uk illustrates.
Douglas Murray was recently been banned
from the London School of Economics for 'potentially provoking further
unrest', in January 2009, in light of the (illegal) Israeli incursion
in Gaza, Palestine; his staunch and unwarranted criticism of Islam has
led to him requiring police protection in Holland and moreover he has
(on several occasions)Â openly demonstrated Islam's
‘incompatibility' with the West.
He has been quoted as saying, "All
immigration into Europe from Muslim countries must stop" and, "We in
Europe owe no special dues to Islam. We owe them no religious holidays,
special rights or privileges." [Douglas Murray on ‘What to do with
Islam' March 2006].
Douglas Murray will be debating for British Law.
Purpose of Debate
The purpose of this debate is
ultimately for the truth to prevail and for the falsehood to vanquish,
and we hope that by this illuminating discussion the British public
will experience the superiority of al-Islam over that of the British
Law.
